Spielberg required in a public explanation that China must act more to finish the human tragedy in Dafur. China is one of the main buyers for Sudanese oil and maintains narrow economic relations with Sudan. In the past China has always inserted his veto in the UN Security Council if the action of the government should be condemned in Khartum.

According to estimates of NGO`s more than 200,000 people were killed during the past years in the Darfur conflict. Up to 2.5 millions were expelled, many fled in the neighbouring countries of Sudan. The Islamic government in Khartum which has the backing of China denies so far any reproach of the specific expulsion.

Instead of Winehouse presents her nominated album “Back To Black” during the gala evening by satellite. The visa had presumably been rejected because Winehouse had been arrested the last year because of the possession of marihuana. However, even if she says of herself: ” I believe, I will always find a way, to ruin my life.”, she is not the White Trash Queen so many supposes.

Scientists of the Japanese university of Keio have developed a computer program with which an Avatar can be steered, e.g., in Second Life only with strength of thought. The cerebral activities are transmitted with the help of electrodes to a laptop. Then the new Sostware translates the cerebral signals into the orders which steer the Avatar. Sounds almost unbelievable - if we could`nt see it here by film.

Interesting article in the NYT (with many great photos) about people who screw ingenious stereo sound systems on her bicycles to themselves: “Biking to a Different Beat. The motocross bicycle of Stephen Sonnylal, 17, at left, bears a 200-pound system with a 50-CD changer. It has 3,000 watts of power and cost $800. “People say, ‘It’s the next best thing to having a system in a car.’ But it’s better because you don’t even have to roll down the windows,” said Nick Ragbir, 18, right.”
